About Me

Name: Elizabeth
Age: 20

I am a junior at Arizona State University and loving every minute of it. I am an Elementary Education major and will hopefully soon be adding a minor in Family and Human Development. I love music and I am in constant awe of how a song can sway a person’s emotions or make them so clearly recall a memory. I am a Christian, born and raised, and that is something that will come across on this blog. I wholeheartedly believe that God loves us all and has a plan for everyone, as well as many other beliefs, however, I will never force my beliefs on anyone. I ask, in return, that anyone who ever comments refrain from forcing their beliefs on me. To quote one of my former roommates, “I’ll do me and you do you.”
Let’s see…what else? My favorite current TV show is Castle (though Chuck will always be my top fave) and I am obsessed with ranch dressing. Favorite color is lavender and I love the smell of vanilla anything. I think vanilla is such a warm, inviting smell, though the smell of cinnamon spice in the fall is pretty darn amazing, too. I have a bit of an issue with buying jewelry and watches. And coffee mugs. And purses. I also really, really, really like writing. I’ve kept a journal since I was twelve and have an enormous collection of short stories and poems. I’ve got ideas for real novels- I just have to get those ideas onto paper and that’s something I struggle with. I love to read, too, so if you ever have a good book recommendation, I will definitely check it out.
Most of all, what I think people ought to know is that I care. And I understand. When I was 15/16 years old, I struggled with a very serious bout of depression after a series of events (including losing my grandma) and often thought about committing suicide. Music, and someone I was close to and looked up to during my high school years, are what got me through that time (and God, of course, for I believe He gave me those two things). If ever I can reach out to someone who is going through what I did, I will consider my life complete.
I also love to plan things. I love throwing parties and doing creative things for my friends’ birthdays (a love I will hopefully be able to turn into a party planning business someday). I love to be around people and have fun. I used to be such an introvert, but now I love people and making other people happy. I think that’s why planning things is totally my thing because it makes other people happy and that makes me happy.
I definitely want to get married and have kids someday. I’ve always dreamed of becoming a mother and I really look forward to having kids of my own and a home of my own. My own childhood was a difficult one and so I will always strive to provide a better life for my kids someday.
Honestly, I don’t know what else to say! I think more of who I am and what I think will come through as I post more (hopefully, anyway. That’s kinda the point of a blog). And speaking of!

About this blog

A Time and Place for Everything is the title I came up with for the biography I, at 14, became convinced I was going to write someday. And who knows? Maybe I will. The title is firmly based in my belief that every second of a life matters to the direction in which it goes. If any decision I, or my parent(s), made during life was even the slightest bit different, I would not be who or where I am today. Also, this verse, which I came across after I came up with the name: To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8)
So, right now 2013 is the time and Arizona State is the place. And everything? That’s me and my life.
